The German “Swing Jugend” is sometimes considered to be the first music subculture of the 20th century. Their love for music and their lifestyle meant a more than life dangerous undertaking in Berlin in the late 1930′s. Since that time many have been inspired by their commitment and total dedication to music. This is not a blog about the Swing-era , but about MUSIC. Music that means something, music that is true and authentic. After listening, reading, living and writing about music for many years, I find the genuine authenticity and truthfulness of the 30′s Swing era not so far away from the early 80′s American HardcorePunk scene, Alternatice Country rising in the early 90ies in Denver or some PostPunk/ New Wave – revivals in our days. True music is life. Back then and now.
Swing Heil, Friedrich is a site because of and about music that I absolutely love. The spectrum goes from PostPunk/NewWave to Alternative Country and Indie. I do talk about other things from time to time, but mostly it’s a place to express my love for songs that are special to me and to share my thoughts with you. I try to do a personal interview with the bands I write about.
If you think…
- I will love your band
- You represent/promote someone I will love
- You are a featured artist and would like your songs removed
- You know about any music out there I need to hear about
- Or if you’d like to contribute to the site in some way
please drop me a line with the contact form below or send me an email, I’d be thrilled to hear from you. You can also leave me your track directly in my DropBox.
